I can't even begin to describe how many things went wrong today. However, I'm pretty sure that God sent me a few guardian angels to help me along. He tends to have to do that for me quite often.
This morning, when I got to the parking lot that I usually park in, there were no spots left. I knew there was another parking lot beside the Elim Chapel that I could try, but I had never found an empty spot there before. Well, it just so happens that when I drove into that parking lot this morning, there was exactly one empty parking spot left. Thanks, God!
When I got inside the school, I realized that the Academic Writing paper that I was supposed to hand in today was not stapled together, and the professor of this course specifically told us that "we don't like it when your assignments aren't stapled, or at least paper clipped, and we also don't appreciate when you ask us if you can borrow our stapler". So, I sat in the hallway and panicked about it for a little while, until a girl from my class came and stood beside me. She started talking to me about how she didn't remember the way in which we were required to put our papers together, and had brought a stapler to school just in case. I was so thrilled, I almost hugged her.
Then, on my way home from school, I obviously was not paying proper attention to the road, because I drove over a chunk of wood with a huge nail sticking out of it. I was extremely worried about getting a flat tire on the highway: I don't know how to change a tire (because I'm stupid) and my cell phone is unable to hold a call for longer than 30 seconds (because it is stupid). So, basically, I just stopped on the side of the road, put on my four-ways, and got out of my car to investigate. Now that I think of it, I must have looked like a complete idiot kneeling on the ground, putting my ear against the victim tire to listen for a leak. But, just as I realized that my tire was totally fine, a nice old man slowed down, opened his truck window, and asked me if I was in need of any assistance. I said, no, but thanked him profusely, and realized, as he drove away, that there are still decent, kind, caring people on this Earth.
Three angels in one day. Evidently, someone up in the sky is working overtime for me.
The second part of my day was better (and worse, in a sense) than the first part!
In the evening, I got to see three of my awesome friends, laugh my face off at book titles (and book content) in Chapters, aaannnd eat POPCORN.
Now, the only completely and totally poop-y part of today was the movie we saw.
Easy A.
Don't ever watch it, I beg of you.
That movie goes against everything I stand for, and makes hundreds of extremely hasty generalizations about Christianity. NOT. COOL.
And, to my dear friends who read my blog, I apologize (again and again and forever) about ever suggesting that movie in the first place.
I most definitely owe all of you big time.
Anyhow, tomorrow is a new day.
Smile! :)
I love this! It's true, gaurdian angels are everywhere :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are, my dear. I miss you a ton! I hope you are having a wonderful time in Germany, and I hope that you are ready to stalk boys in my car again when you get home.
