I've been asked over and over and over by so many people, "Sam, can I have the recipe for those amazing cookies!?"
This may sound extremely conceited, but - I kid you not - I make the best cookies I've ever tasted (besides my own mother, of course)!
This is the most fabulous chewy Gingersnap recipe you will ever taste, I guarantee!
Gingersnaps:
1 1/2 cups margarine or lard
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
4 cups flour
2-4 tsps baking soda (depending on how much you want them to rise)
1 tsp salt
1-2 tsps ginger (depending on your own spice preference)
1-2 tsps cinammon (depending on your own spice preference)
1/4-1 tsp cloves (depending on your own spice preference)
Cream the first four ingredients. Mix together dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add them to the first bowl. Roll dough into balls and then roll in white sugar. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
Let me tell you, if you don't appreciate these, you have NO TASTE!
I love baking Christmas cookies, and Gingersnaps are a great treat at family get-togethers and office parties! Enjoy.
22 days until Christmas!
