Tea Bag Method

There is something that happens to me all the time, which I find extremely annoying.

Whether I'm opening a car door, unplugging a block heater cord, or even just trying to grab something too quickly, I always seem to break a nail (or three, for that matter).

Yesterday I was leaving work, and I walked up to my car, aiming to put my purse (and such things) inside and let it run for a while before I went home. So, I reached for the door handle and grabbed it, and viola: it snapped back and my nail cracked halfway off. Lovely.

So, I sulked for a second or two, and then decided to try a nail fixing experiment that I had recently seen on youtube.

Well, it just so happens that my little experiment worked like a charm, and my nail is as good as new! Sounds impossible, right? Wrong!

All you need is:
- a tea bag (cut open and empty of its contents)
- a clear top coat or nail strengthener
- a pair of scissors
- a pinch of patience

Method:
1. Cut a tiny square out of the tea bag; small enough so that it fits on your nail, but large enough to cover the cracked area.
2. Take the clear polish and put a dot on the square. Then carefully take the square and lay it over the cracked part of your nail, making sure you cover the entire area.
3. With your finger, dab the square piece down so that it is completely flat on your nail.
4. Take your nail strengthener and paint it over your entire nail, carefully covering up the square.
5. Wait for the nail polish to dry and; presto! The tea bag is now invisible, and your nail is cured! (For however long the nail polish lasts, that is).

It sounds really dumb, but believe me, if I wouldn't have tried this, my nails would all be very short by now.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOU TEA BAG? GET GOING.

;)

  1. I have a feeling I would just pick the tea bag off, just like I always pick nail polish off. :P
